Inter-Establishment Navigator

MUSCO is an inter-institutional collaboration between CHU Sainte-Justine and its Marie Enfant Rehabilitation Centre, the Montreal Children’s Hospital and Shriners Hospitals for Children – Canada, to improve the quality of life of patients suffering from musculoskeletal disorders and requiring complex care, and their families. The synergy created by this comprehensive and collaborative Initiative is intended to improve the care, treatment and rehabilitation of patients who are brought to several of these facilities. Concrete and significant solutions have been defined to address the problems encountered by the patients and families targeted by this Initiative. One of these solutions is the creation of Inter-Establishment Navigators. One Inter-Establishment Navigator is in place, and now a second person needs to be recruited (as a replacement) to work alongside the current one.

Thus, under the direction of the Initiative, supervised by the head of the Shriners Nursing and Patient Services and the head of CHUSJ Rehabilitation, and attached to the head of the Shriners Hospitals for Children – Canada Nursing and Patient Care Services Division and based on working in partnership with the current Inter-Establishment Navigator, the second Inter-Establishment Navigator will have the mandate to support the alignment of the institutions’ treatment teams, with the goal of improving the care and service trajectory of patients and their families.
