A number of research and improvement projects are developed within MUSCO to optimize the care offered to patients. These projects aim to help caregivers develop a better knowledge and understanding of the needs of families and the health status of patients. The goal is to allow patients to feel more supported as they receive personalized care tailored to their conditions.

Project Objectives
Progress Report
The goal of the Orthopedic Database Project was to improve the management and care trajectory of families by centralizing patient data and supporting clinical research projects.
Following the example of the scoliosis database that CHU Sainte-Justine has had for almost 15 years, the use of the new Centro software was to support the creation of a global orthopedic patient database, and discussions were to be held in parallel with Shriners Hospitals for Children – Canada (Shriners) to extend the project to other establishments.
While the orthopedic database was implemented and is now operational at CHU Sainte-Justine, collaboration with the Shriners did not bear fruit. The two hospitals were unable to find a joint clinical research project, and therefore no proposals were submitted to the ethics committees at either institution.
